cost of these systems, the cost of barrier fluid and cooling
water, and the long term maintenance costs are eliminated.
Also eliminated are potential seal failures resulting from
problems associated with the operation of typical liquid barrier
systems.
The dry running safety seal is designed as a self contained
cartridge and when used with a standard primary seal requires
less axial space than typical double seal arrangements.
To maximize emissions control it is suggested the barrier
area be vented to a vapour recovery system.
