Eagle Industry has been the split seal technology expert for surface vessels and submarine propeller shaft applications. The same technology is adapted and now being offered for continuous process plants, for difficult to handle large pumps, agitators and mixers.

These seals offer a number of cost saving advantages over packings, viz. Power saving, reduced downtime, increased sleeve life, increased MTBF of bearings, reduced water consumption and good house keeping.

  • Type SP1 seal can be installed in less than half an hour, without necessitating dismantling or realignment of the equipment.
  • The seal has very few parts to assemble.
  • Unique disc design eliminates usage of coil springs. No more clogging or corrosion of springs.
  • The seal is installed outside the stuffing box, hence there is no need to wait for turn around to attend to the leaking pump.
  • The design is well suited for CW pumps in process plants, CEPs in power plants, top entry agitators in pharmaceutical plants and side entry mixers for refineries.
  • The seals for mixers can also be offered with back up device such that the equipment need not be drained out before attending to the seal.

Type SP2 seal for Hydel Turbines is a specially designed seal for higher shaft sizes and lower speeds. Typical application being Kaplan turbines and vertical cooling water pumps. The seal has split faces of Bronze and CI, while the rubber elastomer is in one piece construction. The seal can be attended to without dismantling the equipment.
