The combined experience of mechanical seal manufactures and users all over coupled with the long felt need of having a 'stand alone' user/ manufacturer seal standard led to the creation of API 682 standard in the year 1994.

This is a seal standard which can be referenced to the API 610 standard for pumps. The API 682 standard IS currently in its second edition.

The objectives of the API 682 are extended seal life while complying with the emission control norms.

The API seals go through a rigorous seal qualification test

procedure that instill a degree of confidence in the end user that each seal and sealing system will perform in accordance with the scope of API 682.

EPIL mechanical seals have under gone the qualification testing at the "state of the art" test rigs.
EPIL seals are available for all 3 seal categories as per API 682 second edition. They can be furnished in single, double back- to- back, face- to- face and tandem arrangements.

LL9 seals are low temperature pusher seals with rotating flexible elements consisting of multiple springs. They have 'O' rings for secondary sealing and other metallurgy in full compliance with API 682 requirements.

LY9SA seals are low temperature metal bellow seals with rotating flexible element. They have elastomers for secondary sealing and other metallurgy in full compliance with API682 requirements.
